Eligible candidates can apply online through the official SSC portal. The selection is based on a Computer Based Examination followed by document verification by respective user departments.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: Varies by post (Generally 18–42 years, with age relaxations as per rules)
- Educational Qualification: Matriculation, 10+2, or Graduation depending on the post
- Nationality: Indian Citizens or as per standard government norms (Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, etc.)
Reservation & Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10–15 years (depending on category)
- ESM, Central Govt. Employees, Widows, Divorced Women: Applicable as per rules
Selection Process
- Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBT) – Objective type MCQs
- Stage 2: Document Verification by respective User Departments
- Skill Test (if required): Qualifying in nature for certain posts
Exam Pattern
- Subjects: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language
- Total Questions: 100 | Total Marks: 200 | Time: 60 minutes
- Negative Marking: 0.50 mark for each wrong answer
- Different sets: Separate exams for Matriculation, 10+2, and Graduation level posts
